a reminder of why I like Jason

I'm still sad this morning that Jason Castro won't be on Idol next week, and so I offer this YouTube video, a studio edition of Over the Rainbow along with great black and white shots of Jason on Idol.

I'll just have to watch the YouTube videos of Jason until he's got an album out.

Love, love, love the boy. Last night, he totally knew he was in over his head ("Next week, I'd have to learn three songs, and I don't know WHAT I'd do...) It takes humility and wisdom and grace to be able to cut through the popularity-vote elements of the contest and recognize your own limitations. I've never seen a contestant do it as well as Jason did. Instead of "thinking more highly of himself than he ought," he was actually discerning about himself. A hard thing, but a beautiful and honest thing to witness.

I totally agree with Katy - very mature assessment of himself. I think he will go far, as many non-Idol winners often do. What a voice!

I will miss him too. His voice and humility and humor. I thought he was very humble to admit before a viewing audience he was in over his head. I wish him all the best and will be looking for his CD for sure.
