Idol 11: Vegas (Round 1)

Monday night, and I finally got around to watching the two-hour Vegas show from last Thursday. I enjoyed the show enough that it seemed worthy of my first post for the 11th season. Of course, some cuts were met with bravery and good manners and class, and some were met with diva pride and bad manners and classlessness. I'm never sorry to see the latter go.

The show ended with 42 contestants left standing. Next week (Vegas Round 2) the cuts take us down to 24. I've got my eye on some potential favorites, but I've got no intention of getting too invested at this point. I'll wait until I have an opportunity to vote.

Are you excited for the voting to begin? Have you a favorite or two of your own from this year's crop of talented youth? Are you glad I'll be back to blogging Idol for another year? And if American Idol isn't your cup of tea, what floats your boat on TV this year?

I made the mistake of picking a few favorites already and one got the boot last week. Sad.

I like Jen (can't think of her last name, tall, dark hair, big voice) and she has been pretty consistent so hopefully she'll make it to the top 12.

Last year was the first year we watched idol - it's a fun thing to do with my kids, so I'm looking forward to it.
