Friend and fellow author Kim Vogel Sawyer posted this reading test on the Writes of Passage blog. I loved learning how fast I read. How about you? Take the test and then share your results, if you don't mind. (Clicking on the ereader graphic below will take you to the Staples site where you can take the test.)

Robin, I surprised myself, reading 275 wpm, mostly because I hit the big 70 in six weeks. Since meeting you at the retreat in Missouri, and getting the missing copies of your books to complete my collection, I have been rereading them all. Don't ask my favorite. It is always the one I am currently reading. :) Really looking forward to the two new ones. Love you and your books so much. And, oh, by the way, I did get married since I saw you. God is good and I am blessed.

Great job, Lydia. So glad you're enjoying all the books again. And yes, I knew you got married. I think we must have exchanged the info and congrats on Facebook. Praying that your marriage will be long and wonderful.

Pretty cool! I got all three right.
Nice work! You read 186 words in 27 seconds.

That was cool. I read 418 wpm. I was fairly pleased with that, although disappointed that I was below the "average college student." I think I used to read faster. Darn the Internet! But it was 67% higher than the average person. So I'm cool with that. Incidentally, I have a "reading list" that I have kept with for almost 40 years, starting in April of 1974. Yesterday, I finished book number 1267. A little over 33 books per year, on average. Not too shabby, I guess.

Wow, Jeff! How awesome. Not just your speed (much faster than mine) but that 40 year reading list. What a cool thing to have. I have kept a notebook, half-heartedly, for a number of years. I frequently forget to write in it. Sigh.

Wow. I know I read fast but 580 words per minute. No wonder I have to re-read the good parts! LOL.
