I love the quote of Zig Ziglar's shown at right: "What you get by achieving your goals isn't as important as what you become by achieving your goals." So very true!
I set four goals for myself in 2012, and I was moderately successful in them. I had the most success in increasing my workout times. I was definitely more faithful at exercising than in the recent past. I failed completely to get my office clutter under control. I may just have to resign myself to the paper blizzard that begins to reappear the instant I get a stack cleared off my desk and/or floor.
Although it wasn't a goal written down for 2012, I managed to get my cholesterol and C-Reactive Protein levels down to a more healthy level. I'm so excited about this because I've been working on this for a number of years.
So what are my goals for 2013?
- Read more and keep better records of the books I read throughout the year (including audiobooks listened to in the car when running errands)
- Continue to be faithful in my cardio exercise and add more stretching (aging is not kind on human bodies and I must stay flexible!)
- Keep my word journal faithfully; go deep with God!
- Give God my very best, the first fruits, in time and talent and money
Care to share your goals for the New Year?
